I’m pleased to announce the submission process has begun! I’m awaiting replies from a couple of agents, while also searching for others to query. I’m taking my time and being very careful, asking as many probing questions as possible. It’s the best way to avoid scams that target new authors.
For anyone looking to find a professional with good credentials to submit your work to – regardless of genre – I highly recommend using the resources of the A.A.R. or another such organization that verifies legitimacy and ethics. It means nothing if an agent themselves is also a writer or has successfully placed a lot of other authors with good publishers. These days, there are a number of people in the industry who take advantage of first-time writers.
