Publication and Surprises: a Lit. and Life Update

This year, I’ve released my second volume of poetry and am nearing completion of this phase of the editing process for my first novel. Since the transition from writing to submitting my work is approaching, I felt the need to seek some guidance from my friend and mentor, Alura, regarding my online presence. And I’m very pleased with the results!

Happily, my progress with both my author website and personal blog has been right on target. I simply need to continue in the same vein: writing about things I know and find interesting.

Therefore, Superlative Deviation will be getting more new content that will be unique to this platform. I’m especially looking forward to sharing more detailed posts this fall, as we are coming up on the festival of Grianstad. I want to keep this area as positive as possible, but I’ll also share how I’m keeping myself on track as more and more of the Angelic Herald predictions come to fruition. Following the guidance is key, but that doesn’t mean the world doesn’t still make me feel a little down at times. I hope I can encourage others who might be struggling.

As usual, literary updates, links, and related posts will appear at The Whiteraven Net. However, I’m considering adding a little something extra. Stay tuned to see what it will be.

YouTube channel:

I’m pleased to announce that I will be uploading original content to my YouTube channel this fall! This will be the first time I’ve had much of a presence on that platform, other than enjoying others’ content. The channel will be simple, down-to-earth, and – most importantly – completely AI-free. As greater numbers of “creators” are now posting computer-generated videos, I’ve been advised to steer clear of that practice and make a channel where people can be sure that what (and who) they’re watching is real.

The channel will feature readings of poetry from my first and second books, as well as chapter excerpts from my novel. I’ll also be sharing book recommendations from my own library. While I might not be in front of the camera all the time, the voice in each video will be mine. At the moment, I’m still setting things up. So more information will be shared closer to the release of the first video.

Spiritually Awkward

My beloved followers! A few things to read this week. I posted another notice up on my spiritual services website if anyone wants to head on over there and read it, if you haven’t already. Here I want to elaborate a little bit on the scarecrow contest that I conducted back in October. I want to announce the winner end talk about a few things while I have the time.

For most of my contests, I usually have a pretty good number of contestants. I’ve done a makeover contest a few times, Plus other raffles that I’ve had on going on my spiritual services website. Blog Update, Content, and Future Surprise

Several new entries have been added to the Cruelty-Free Life page. For those who don’t know, this is the page where I post a list of companies I have personal experience with that make environmentally-friendly products that are vegan and cruelty-free. I’ve added an entry for affordable cleaning supplies and one for footwear, too!

Those who follow me on Instagram may have noticed that I have joined a movement supported by my mentor and best friend, Alura Cein, called #indoornomore . It’s a motivational project to get people outside to reconnect to nature, each other, and themselves. I’ve decided to bring a little of that here to S.D., as well. As the weather improves, everybody feels more inclined to get outside. So, I’m going to begin releasing a few short posts featuring images from my nature walks or even stories surrounding some of my favorite areas nearby. Some may also coincide with other topics such as hobbies or even writing updates. Let’s have fun and change things up a bit!

Updates have been posted to the page featuring Alura’s platforms, and my own page will see some revisions, as well, in the coming weeks. I have a surprise that will be announced in a few weeks, so keep an eye on T.W.N. this month!

Brief Update and Personal Post

Recently it’s been crazy here. My family has endured some unexpected issues and demolition in our home, but things are much more quiet now. I hope to be able to post a little more regularly soon. I apologize for not posting new content as promised, but life happens. Isn’t it great!

As previously mentioned, new updates on my writing projects are being posted on T.W.N. A new one will be out this coming Tuesday. I also plan to post one or two fun things to S.D. on the same day. As the days get a little hectic, I’m trying to get organized again. I have made several changes to the running of the blog and my author site which should help greatly. You might also notice some editing of my bio and other information, as well.

Blog Update: “S.D. Plans for Spring!”

January 20th, 2021
This year will be seeing a lot more original content, and a few new additions. One is some posts that are also linked to content I’ve shared on other platforms. I have already begun that process in several recent blog posts that mentioned topics that have come up on Facebook and Instagram. Since I’m fairly active on Instagram, I didn’t see the need to share photos here, too. However, there are a few upcoming posts that call for personal imagery. This includes the new vegan cooking and family fun projects I will be sharing, so stay tuned for those!

As you can see, ratings have been added to all pages and posts. Feel free to take advantage of this new feature. You can also rate my poetry as it’s released on T.W.N. A new literary update on the novel is coming soon, as well. I will also be sharing more books from my shelves and the local library to encourage the Read a Real Book movement and encourage literacy in people of all ages.

Several new categories will also be added to Superlative Deviation. Most of them will be released closer to spring, but a few will make an earlier appearance. I’m not going to hint at what they are. You’ll just have to wait and see! All in all, I think we will have a very exciting and diverse blog for people to enjoy this year. I hope it inspires you to motivate yourself in the days ahead.

Blog Update Part Two – Bonus: Literary Update!

There are many things happening behind the scenes, but here is what I’m able to share now.

New Content: I have been encouraged by my mentor to expand the content on my blog. Because of that, I’ve re-written the “About” page and will be releasing posts on several new topics – some serious, some humorous. I’m looking forward to having fun with this!

Writing Prompts: I will be contributing to “The Weekly Smile” periodically, as well as several other prompts I’ve found both online and off. “The Grateful Five” will be a permanent part of the blog, and I encourage anyone who wants to join in to comment each time I post something in this category and list five things you are grateful for, too. Everyone is welcome to participate!

New Series: Because I am very open about my support of the vegan movement and in light of more and more people being forced to seek other ways to feed their families, I thought now was a good time to share some of my own personal stories and experiences. Everyone’s journey to better health is different, and everyone has a slightly different way of living a cruelty-free life. So I’ve decided to begin sharing mine.

This won’t be a lengthy series, but I do think it will give others a different perspective of veganism, as well as some of the people who adopt it and why. There’s never just one reason why a person makes a life style change such as this, and that is what I hope to show. I’m excited about these stories because I don’t get to share them very often. I also write on a similar topic for my friend and mentor, Alura Cein, on A Life Of Virtues Magazine and am continuing to contribute content to her blog, which will be released at the right time.

Literary Update: For those who have been following my writing career, I am currently reformatting my first book before sending it to a new agent. This process has generated a new draft which is far superior to the previous one, and I’m very excited to get feedback on it. At the moment, I’m beginning work on the fourth chapter and hope to be able to start the submission process again at the beginning of next year.

I hope you’re all doing well and are as eager as I am to see where the future takes us. Look for some of this new content coming soon.

“Lit. Update and Brand-New Topics!” (part one)

Welcome back, and season’s greetings! At long last, I’m about to begin posting new topics and content to my personal blog. Here are a few of the updates:

Positive Writing Participation: I have come across a few other blogs here on WordPress that offer writing prompts with interesting and very positive themes, and I’ve decided to participate. Several upcoming posts here on Superlative Deviation will be based on those themes and contain links back to the original blogger who inspired me.

Novel Reformat: Currently, I’m in the process of updating the format of my first book. Afterwards, I will be querying a couple new agents. I am using the A.A.R. as a resource to find reputable people in the industry.They include agents who represent nearly every type and genre imaginable. I and highly recommend that all new writers take advantage of this resource. It’s unbelievable how many con artists are out there. Stay smart!

Blog Update

As I formulate a plan for refreshing this blog, I have decided to keep the things I enjoy the most about it. The Grateful Five is definitely one of them! I actually have a lot of fun with those posts and how it boosts positivity. The vegan resources I’ve posted will also be staying up, and I’ll add a few more as time goes on. I may even incorporate some of my own in a couple of future posts, since others are coming into the holiday season.

Some of the older content on this page has already been deleted to make way for new ideas. There will also be changes made to my social media content in the future. I’ve been almost completely unplugged from those platforms for a while (which feels wonderful). However, I am keeping in touch with my extended family in the group and posting to my own page on facebook.

Quite some time ago, I considered making a Youtube channel geared more towards writing as my career took off. I’ve decided to abandon that idea, at least for now. Instead, I’m focusing on the writing itself and locating more agents to query. Juggling that with daily life and work is tough but worth the effort.

I hope everyone is doing well, valuing family, working on your goals, and building community. Perhaps I’ll release a more personal post this week to share some of what I’ve been dealing with and working on. I’m certainly looking forward to how this journey progresses.
