Lit. Update: Social Platforms and Poetry Announcement!
It’s happening!
I will cease to operate on My Poetic Side, as I no longer have time to manage that space. However, I do plan to stay on Medium for the foreseeable future. All other social media platforms remain in effect until further notice.
Now for the big announcement: my first poetry book will be available for purchase on Amazon starting Tuesday, December 21st! I will offer it in paperback format for $8.00 (USD). It does not contain any artwork at this time. The release just happens to coincide with the winter solstice, which was not originally my plan; but I’m glad it happened anyway! I think revealing a project full of positive light on the darkest, lowest point of the year is truly poetic.
I want to thank those of you who have remained with me throughout this phase of my journey. There’s still so much to come…

Lit. Update: Poetry proofs on the way!
I’m excited to announce I will be receiving the proof of my first poetry book in a few weeks. I have been hard at work making several necessary revisions and am so excited to have a bound copy of my work to hold in my hand. Stay tuned to hear my final decision!

It is what you make of it.
The images of mind.
It is the limits of your soul
In boundless space and time.
It is the darkness or the light.
The strangeness and the learning.
The opportunities you missed,
Distracted on the journey…
The hearts you healed, the hearts you broke.
The lightness and the weight.
The smaller beings you trample on,
Or who adorn your plate.
It is what you make of it,
The soul behind the laughter.
So bear in mind from time to time –
There is a sweet Hereafter.

…The stone wall and the canon
Met them with a fearful ROAR!
They blew a kiss and whispered Love –
The canon was no more.
The stone wall raised its thorns
As they silently approached –
To them it was a gateway
And blossoming vines encroached…
Impostors are these archons?
I have no doubt they know
The purest generation,
That their hearts as white as snow.

Lit. Update, etc.
Revisions on poetry pieces are under way! I’ve chosen the basic arrangement and exactly which poems will be in this manuscript. I’m very happy with how it’s shaping up and might begin releasing a few excerpts sometime next month.
I have been working on furthering my education in the publishing field and will be sharing a couple of good resources I’ve found to this site. I have to divide up my time now because more priorities are demanding my attention, but I will still work to update T.W.N. on schedule.
New content has been posted to S.D. Feel free to check it out! A new update will be released to the blog soon with some interesting news.

Update on poetry book! More news still to come.
As visitors and followers of my author site are aware, I’ve begun removing some content and making several updates to pages and posts. I’m happy to say that I have collected all the poems I have written to date, and the revisions are progressing very well. Several pieces that have been deleted from this site have been re-written and expanded. I will continue to share updates but am not posting excerpts quite yet.
Working on the poetry is a nice change of pace from the cozy mystery. And yes, an update on that is forth-coming, as well.
