Several new entries have been added to the Cruelty-Free Life page. For those who don't know, this is the page where I post a list of companies I have personal experience with that make environmentally-friendly products that are vegan and cruelty-free. I've added an entry for affordable cleaning supplies and one for footwear, too!... Continue Reading →

I am happy to report that the new edit of my first book is nearly complete! For those who don't know, it is a cozy mystery that's been in creation for some time. I'm currently working on the final chapter and very excited about starting the submission process again. On the side, I... Continue Reading →
Personal Post: “Spring Ahead”
Recently, we had the first rainfall of the year. It was a welcomed blessing because it's been pretty dry since the snow stopped. Sadly, except for a few quick errands, I've been too busy struggling getting things done to get outside very much. Once I get rid of some more items on my to-do... Continue Reading →
Personal Post: “Face Your Words”
As I work on myself more and more, I realize many of the things I've been guilty of that society has convinced us are normal but are actually detrimental to self-esteem, compassion, integrity, and growth. For instance, many people seem to think it's funny to ridicule others who make assumptions based on a lack... Continue Reading →
Contribution to “The Weekly Smile”: “Breaking the Shell” #weeklysmile
It's more important now than ever to build and maintain true community. I haven't been a very social person for most of my life and have begun making an effort to change that. Once I made that decision, a few old acquaintances began contacting me (interesting timing). One is a good friend in Texas,... Continue Reading →

Special Feature! “By The Day: Octoberfest”
Group activities for this month. I’ll be participating in some of them. Hope this helps lift some spirits for all of you! Maybe you’ll join us or celebrate on your own. Either way can make a difference.

Grianstad, the days of many names. There’s a time that can be called many things due to the multiple meanings surrounding it. I have heard those in the spiritual plains above call it:
“End of Year”
“End of Sun” time.
Days of the Sleeping Goddess
The Coronation of the King
Return of the Hunter
And so many more. What I love most about this celebration is, that it incorporates several of them. First we have the celebration of the equinox. During the first week of October, we have the feast of Tabernacle ‘s. Then there is Samhain, and the very next day after there is All Saints Day. I’m so starting from the day of the equinox on September 21, all of the way up until November 1, it is a month jam packed with festivities. It’s always been tradition since Celtic tribal times to make our own decorations, tools…

Personal Post – “A Different Kind”
If people were to get a peek into my activities this year, they probably wouldn't think I was celebrating at all. While the Grianstad festival does include the day most people now call Halloween, we've never observed that day. Our festival is about giving thanks, helping others, and preparing for the winter - not... Continue Reading →
Personal/Lit. Post – “A Slow Return”
Touch typing is something I always meant to learn but never did. Recently, I decided it was time to stop procrastinating and figure out a way to teach myself. So far, it's worked pretty well. Of course, I'm not very good yet; but I practice every time I sit (or stand) at the keyboard.... Continue Reading →
