Announcement: Short Story Release! “Lady Of Attica”

Here it is!

Several months ago, I briefly alluded to projects I was working on that I hoped to release sometime this year. Those who have been following me on facebook know I predicted some important news would be coming to T.W.N. very soon.

I’m happy to announce that one of the secret projects is ready to greet its readers! The short story – entitled “Lady Of Attica” – will be available to read for free here on the website under its own page on the main menu. Its summary will be released next Tuesday, June 7th, with a new installment appearing each week.

illusions claiming I was free.

I awoke one day to feel

the seven deadly, putrid seals.

I awoke one day to think

how near my soul came to the brink.

what pride had begged me never to.

I awoke one day to dare

reject the darkened powers of air.

I awoke one day to know

the true … “above is so below”.

Lit. Update: Future Steps

New literary update.

It feels good to finally have my poetry book released in some form. However, the work doesn’t stop there. Now I face the challenges of promoting it.

As I already knew, “self-publishing” requires you to fund most of the work yourself. It gets disheartening and a bit stressful, but it’s what I have to do for now. At least I’ve accomplished one of my major life goals and can continue to build on it. It’s wonderful to be able to look back on the progress I’ve made, not just in writing but in life.

Now comes the constant effort needed to balance these new parts of my daily life. Plus, I’m renewing my efforts to get a part-time job to support my financial needs. For those readers who are also hoping to publish their work in some form, I highly advise that you get and maintain a day job. Don’t…

Lit. Update: Social Platforms and Poetry Announcement!

It’s happening!

The Whiteraven Net

I will cease to operate on My Poetic Side, as I no longer have time to manage that space. However, I do plan to stay on Medium for the foreseeable future. All other social media platforms remain in effect until further notice.

Now for the big announcement: my first poetry book will be available for purchase on Amazon starting Tuesday, December 21st! I will offer it in paperback format for $8.00 (USD). It does not contain any artwork at this time. The release just happens to coincide with the winter solstice, which was not originally my plan; but I’m glad it happened anyway! I think revealing a project full of positive light on the darkest, lowest point of the year is truly poetic.

Lit. Update: Poetry proofs on the way!

I’m excited to announce I will be receiving the proof of my first poetry book in a few weeks. I have been hard at work making several necessary revisions and am so excited to have a bound copy of my work to hold in my hand. Stay tuned to hear my final decision!
