Contribution to the Weekly Smile: “It Comes Back to You” #weeklysmile

Over the weekend, I began reorganizing my mother’s bedroom and giving it a much-needed face-lift. Yesterday, I continued the process, taking a few minutes out of my day to bag some of the odds and ends she has to sort. This will make it less stressful and overwhelming. She was so surprised when she saw the finished product! It felt wonderful to make her life a little nicer.

This has started us on an affordable home renovation journey, inspired by our mentor and best friend, Alura. She’s been doing a great job on her own home and recently shared some pictures and ideas on Her own blog, which I have shared in the previous post.

Over the weekend, I went to my favorite bookstore. To my great surprise, I was complimented on my appearance twice in a row. That’s never happened before! I guess Heaven wanted to prompt me to keep going and remind me that everything will be just fine as long as I keep listening.

A couple of days ago, we had to run some errands. We try to walk everywhere, even in this heat. So it was also an exercise routine. One of the places we stopped was the hardware store. At long last, we are setting up to re-pot some hose plants! I will be sharing pictures of them here in the my next hobby post.

When you’re on the right path and don’t give up, the good things always come back to you – though you might not recognize them. Maybe they come in the form of a lesson (I had that happen recently, too), or perhaps somebody goes out of their way to make you smile. Maybe you reach a point where you throw your hands up and finally do the hard stuff that needs to be done – like I did with organizing the bedroom – and suddenly find the motivation to organize your own thoughts, too. There are no small blessings, only blessings we forget to give thanks for.
